Hi, i’m James, a design leader creating innovative and meaningful products and services
I am passionate about bringing design into peoples’ everyday lives through technology. I believe that design communicates an idea, theory or story and done well has the capacity to make people’s lives better. I believe that putting the experience first and taking a human centred approach is at the heart of any successful product or brand. This is a principal I strive to promote and instil within the teams and businesses I’ve worked with.
I have thrived working in environments that challenge the norm and embrace the psychological influences inherent in human responses to design. It is from this challenge that my inspiration to deliver clear and innovative creative solutions comes from.
Some of my greatest achievements to date include launching the worlds first identity app, Yoti, with over 1m downloads, re-launching the JustGiving website and implementing a responsive framework to increase sign up and e-commerce conversion across all devices, the global rebrand of STA travel to reposition their identity in the leisure marketplace and delivering a brand strategy for The National Gallery which increased their number of daily customer visits.
I continue to aspire to be a thought leader in the design space, in particular around the subject of designing for trust and privacy. Over the past two of years I’ve spoken at a number of events on this subject as well as co-writing and designing patterns for the following articles on Medium:
